My name is Maggie Vasquez Larkin, SBD. I am a mom of two boys, wife, stillbirth doula (SBD) and nursing student. Since the pregnancy of my first child I have been enthusiastic about birth, but it took another decade to decide that I wanted to be involved in others' birth on a professional level. I am a certified Birth and Bereavement Doula, and also certified in Psychological First Aid. That means that I am trained to assist and support in births of ALL outcomes. I founded Holding Space Doula in 2014 following the achievement of my certification by Stillbirthday.
During the time that I was searching for my role as a Birth Doula I gave birth to a twinless twin, and at the same time I lost my mom. Over and over again I was forwarded articles and sites that all lead me to Stillbirthday. There I was met with unconditional support from other doulas, women who have endured loss and wish to give support to those that are experiencing what they did, and mentors that gave us all the tools needed to be Bereavement Doulas. When I joined Stillibirthday, I joined a family. And I want you to find the same comfort I found in them.
If you are sitting in the doctor's office waiting for results, feel you may be experiencing a miscarriage, are concerned your baby has passed, or know your baby will pass at birth or soon after, please go to my bereavement page. I would be honored to sit with you and support you through this journey. Services are tailored to meet your needs and can be in person, over the phone, or via text/email. Please go to my bereavement page for support. You are not alone. I made it my number one goal to gain the emotional and professional knowledge I needed, to not only support families hiring a Birth Doula, but those who need unconditional love, support, and information, to help navigate the path of infant loss; a path that can be confusing, rough, and very emotional.
In person services are limited to the Southern New Hampshire area, including Nashua, Manchester, Concord and surrounding towns. Phone and e-mail support is limitless.
